About us

Bayesia is a French company created in 2001 by two doctors in Science, Lionel Jouffe and Paul Munteanu. Their intention: to make the fruit of their ten years of research on Bayesian networks available to companies. They number among the rare experts able to master this data analysis technique perfectly.

Today, Bayesia has developed six Bayesian Networks based products:

  1. BayesiaLab, the Bayesia showcase product that allows editing and learning Bayesian networks, Bayesia Engine, the API for integrating Bayesian inference in external applications
  2. Bayesia Market Simulator,  for choice modeling and market share simulation
  3. BEKEE, for group knowledge modeling
  4. BEST, for troubleshooting technical systems
  5. BRICKS, for Object-Oriented Bayesian Networks design

The BayesiaLab code has been under continuous development since 1997 and since its first commercial release in 2002, the number of users around the world has grown steadily. It now includes hundreds of researchers and practitioners from very diverse domains, e.g. academia, pharmaceutical research, defense, consumer goods, telecom and many others. It has emerged as the software of choice for those who recognize the power of Bayesian networks in their research.

As of 2007, Procter & Gamble has become Bayesia's worldwide strategic partner, which illustrates BayesiaLab's capabilities as an industrial-strength research tool. Here is a list of selected clients to illustrate the diversity of the domains where our products are used for decision support:  Unilever, L'Oréal, Dell, Sony, Total, ENI, Dassault Aviation, Airbus, EDF, GDF Suez, GfK, Ipsos, TNS, BBDO, GroupM, Booz Allen Hamilton, Mu-Sigma, Neiman Marcus, Telefonica, Nokia Siemens Networks, Inter-Continental Hotel, Hyatt, Hilton, Sanofi-Pasteur, Servier, Cancer Care, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault, AGC, Société Générale, Crédit Agricole, the US Navy, Nasa JPL, Centers for Deseases Control, and many others.

The Bayesia headquarter is located in Laval, France. Bayesia has also a presence in North America with Bayesia USA and in Asia with Bayesia Singapore.
